NOTE: There is a slight delay at the beginning to
buffer the streaming video.
WARNING to
Firefox users: The WMV
files can crash the Firefox browser, at least that's what happened to me,
but I am new on Firefox. I haven't figured out how to prevent that. So
I am trying to add some DivX files, which are higher quality anyway. You
can get the DivX player plugin from DivX.
The WMV movies play fine in Internet Explorer.

My very first video! Old computer, old software. I was
just learning but it came out okay!This video called "Clik Track" is based
on the way video used to be synced with audio.We used grease pencil marks on
a roll of clear film leader which ran with the magnetic audio roll.By
jabbing the grease pencil on the leader as the sound ran we made marks on
the leaderto find the frame of the beats and other music events. Computers
make it so much easier!

Vincent by Don McLean

Learned to use bluescreens. Will send this as a gift to Don very soon. Hope
he likes it. Working day in and day out with the paintings gave me
overwhelming appreciation of Van Gogh's art.

Old Vincent

My first try at
this and my second video, 2003. Old equipment, low resolution.
I'd been wanting to make this since the 80s. Remade on my new machine, 2005. Learned how to use
"blue screens" making this. Cutting the blue screen of the tree branches
took me nearly 3 days to do! (I'm much faster now)

An antiwar music video to a song
"Worthy is the Lamb" by Third Day
by Third Day. No sooner had I stumbled on
this song than the idea came to me that the innocent war dead are a kind of
equivalent to the Lamb of God. Here I wanted to test certain limits. I had
gotten frustrated writing articles about the war and realize that a video
language was necessary.

Unto Us a Child Is Born

A USC film school project which I made in 1966 made with
my friend and mentor Jerry Strawbridge. It shows that I had been thinking
along these lines (called "kinestasis") way back then. We shot it on Jerry's
homemade animation stand, which is why the movements are a bit jerky. Also I
had not then even learned the grease pencil-click track method of synching
picture and sound, so, to me, the synch is often "off."

Test opening for "Chiquitita"
(WMV embedded player)
Test of opening sequence for a video of this song by
Sinead O'Connor. If I can ever find the time to do this it is really going
to rock. Sinead was in a Catholic sect for a while (still?) and got the name
Mother Bernadette. This will take a simple love song and give it spiritual
implications, and also be a love letter and tribute to O'Connor.
